The interference effect is way overblown. 20-30 mins of low intensity won't kill your gains.

If your heart rate is 160 after a set of 5 squats, your aerobic base sucks and you need cardio.

Exactly! It literally allows you to take shorter rest periods or do more work per session.

Somewhat, but the local muscular fatigue is different from central cardiovascular adaptations.

I started walking 10k steps a day and my squat sessions feel much easier.
