Fasting Glucose vs HbA1c: Insulin Sensitivity

My fasting glucose is 105 mg/dL but my HbA1c is 5.1%. Am I pre-diabetic or is this just dawn phenomenon?

HbA1c is a 3-month average. 5.1% is perfect. Fasting glucose can be high due to stress or poor sleep.

Get a Fasting Insulin test and calculate your HOMA-IR. That is the gold standard.

High protein intake can also keep fasting glucose slightly elevated via gluconeogenesis.

Do you take Growth Hormone? That will definitely spike fasting glucose.

Caffeine can spike cortisol which spikes glucose. Try testing after a rest day.

Also, check your Vitamin D. Low Vitamin D is linked to impaired insulin secretion.

I prefer Berberine. 500mg before high carb meals works wonders.
