What about the effect of cold plunging on EPOC? Does it halt the metabolic response or enhance it through shivering thermogenesis?

Cold plunging post-workout is a hypertrophy killer. It blunts the inflammation necessary for the satellite cell response.

Agreed. Save the cold for non-training days if you want to maximize the "science" of growth.

Final thought: EPOC is the cherry on top. Build the cake with heavy sets first.
