Caffeine and Power Output: The Genetic Factor

Post by LatinoBulk »

Are you a fast or slow metabolizer? The CYP1A2 gene determines if caffeine helps or hurts your performance.

Slow metabolizers can actually see a decrease in performance if they dose too close to training.

I have noticed that. 400mg makes me jittery and weak, 100mg is my sweet spot.

I'm a fast metabolizer. I can drink a double espresso and nap 30 mins later.

Yes, they should dose at least 60-90 mins before. Fast metabolizers can do 30-45 mins.

It also lowers RPE. You just feel like the weight is lighter.
